‘Boarding Trains Should Be A National Sport’: Videos Of Overcrowded Reserved Coaches Go Viral
Two viral videos are making rounds on the social media, shedding light on the ever-growing issue of the overcrowded railway coaches.

The widespread issue of overcrowded railway coaches has sadly become all too common nowadays. And now, two new viral videos are making rounds on social media, shedding light on this ever-growing problem. Shared on X (formerly Twitter), these videos capture the chaotic scenes at a railway station platform as hordes of people try to board the already packed reserved coaches.

In a biting tone, the user named Kapil directed a sarcastic caption towards Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, “Safely entering the reserved coaches should be declared a national sport! Make @AshwiniVaishnaw the sports minister.”

Since being shared online, the videos have amassed over 300,000 views, sparking a flurry of responses from the users who didn’t hold back in criticising the railway system.

One user remarked, “Someone should put a journo there and ask these people whom do they attribute all their inconvenience and misfortunes to! I still doubt they will come out of denial. Till that time, AV will get a clean chit from these very same people travelling in toilets, sadly.”

Another user highlighted the absence of Railway Protection Force (RPF), stating, “Does something called RPF exist, never have they been seen on the platform, or they come only when some unfortunate incident happens. Y is the Mantri ji silent, i have personally tweeted around 50-60 times not a single response..as the common people not worth2B replied.”

Sharing a poignant incident, one individual wrote, “I had already participated with my family last year, but I couldn’t find my seat (truthfully, I lacked the courage) and ended up standing near the toilet despite having a reserved ticket ( rohilla station to Ajmer). My son is 6 years old, and my daughter is 9 years old.”

Taking a dig at the Railway Minister, another commenter remarked, “I think soon all trains will be like the Mumbai locals. I think the railway minister thinks that if Mumbai locals can work then all trains can adapt to the same model. Bas paisa chapna rukna nahi chahiye. No wonder people are leaving this country. Tax payers are slaves here.”

Earlier, a similar video showcasing people swarming the AC compartments and locking the coaches from inside went viral, highlighting the challenges of travelling on Indian Railways. In response to the video, many users in the comment section demanded strict action against people who board trains without reserved tickets or switch from their unreserved coaches to AC compartments.
