In the thrilling match, Delhi Capitals set a challenging target of 224, thanks to Rishabh Pant's explosive innings, who scored 88 runs in just 43 balls.

Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Rishabh Pant found himself in the spotlight after he played a breathtaking game in an IPL 2024 match against Gujarat Titans (GT) on April 24. In the thrilling match, the Capitals set a challenging target of 224 in 20 overs, thanks to Pant’s explosive innings. The captain scored 88 runs in just 43 deliveries, hitting eight sixes and five fours. Despite a fearless effort from Shubman Gill’s Gujarat, they fell short by just 10 runs and managed to score 220 runs in their 20 overs. Pant’s performance even earned him the Player of the Match award. Amidst the excitement, a fan shared a humourous clip celebrating Pant’s brilliant knock and poked fun at those who doubted his abilities. The cricketer, amused by the video, appreciated the fan’s creativity and called it “funny.”

In the video, a boy shows his skills by performing a reverse hit and continues to hit the ball with one hand while casually sipping tea with the other hand. He continues to impress by playing similar shots with just one hand throughout the clip. Towards the end, the boy even uses the stump to hit the ball. Sharing the page, the X user wrote, “Rishabh Pant when people start doubting him.” Replying to the fun clip, the cricketer wrote, “Quite funny, looks good,” accompanied by numerous laughing emojis.

After winning the Player of the Match trophy, Rishabh Pant appreciated the bowlers during the post-match conference for doing a great job in the second innings. He said, “T20 is a funny game, the ball was coming onto the bat nicely from the 13th over in the second innings. The bowlers did a fantastic job. As a captain, you feel some instinct, and you’ve got to follow it. It will come off sometimes, it won’t in the others. Hopefully, it worked today.”

The star wicketkeeper-batter added, “At 43 for 3, the only conversation between me and Axar was to keep going and get 8 and 9 an over. We talked if we get something we’ve got to take it on, and that’s what we did. The more I stay in the ground, each and every day I feel better. I like to give my 100 percent, but coming off a long time, every day matters to me, every hour does. I just love being on the field.”

Delhi Capitals’ upcoming match is against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Saturday, April 27, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
