From Delivering Meals To Walking The Ramp, The Inspiring Story Of Mumbai's Sahil Singh
After leaving school, Singh worked in several low-profile jobs to make a living. This helped him earn Rs 18000 to Rs 22000 per month.

It is not very often that we come across stories that leave us questioning our ideas about rising from the ashes and starting anew. Sahil Singh, a 24-year-old fashion model from Mumbai is one such example. From being a rider peddling Swiggy orders to walking on the ramps of the fashion world, Singh shared a glimpse of his journey on Instagram video.

In the now-viral video, Singh said he traversed as an employee of Swiggy delivering food parcels for two years before joining Burger King as a chef for a year. He also took up a job at Mango Mart for eight months before he got his first modelling job.

The caption of the post was written as “Delivery boy to sales executive to MODEL”.

According to the Hindustan Times, his modelling dreams kicked off in 2009 when he saw a dope model poster. He used to sell wallets on the roadside at that time.

Over the years, he auditioned for hundreds of ramp shows and reportedly got his first brand, Streax, earlier this year.

However, his path wasn’t exactly a cakewalk. After leaving school, Singh worked in several low-profile jobs to make a living. This helped him earn Rs 18000 to Rs 22000 per month.

Even about his limitations, Singh speaks very openly but does not seem discouraged by them. Speaking to Hindustan Times, he said he had grown 5 feet 10 inches tall, which is short for a model in India.

He says, “Even with the Streax, I had to request them to let me walk the ramp. They agreed on the condition that I wear heels.”

He now uses his Instagram account to support up-and-coming models and gives them industry expertise and grooming advice.
