In a recent episode, a doctor found a unique way to soothe a 3-year-old during surgery—by tuning in to Sidhu Moosewala’s tunes. Shubhdarshan Singh, hailing from Baghapurana town in Moga, underwent treatment at a private hospital in Jagraon near Ludhiana following a car accident that injured his foot, causing a fracture and necessitating surgery, as per Hindustan Times.
Under the effects of local anaesthesia, Dr. Divyanshu Gupta, the orthopaedic surgeon, observed the child’s anxiety and tears despite his talkative nature. “Even after administering local anaesthesia to numb the foot, he was not letting us perform the surgery. To make him comfortable, we engaged him in a conversation. Asked if he wanted to listen to his favourite singer, the boy demanded we play Sidhu Moose Wala’s songs. We put on his playlist on a mobile phone,” Gupta shared with the news channel.

Consequently, throughout the entire 25-minute surgery, the boy remained engaged as his beloved Sidhu Moosewala tracks played in the background.
“Soon, he was comfortable with the environment and started grooving to the songs by raising his hands as though he were doing Bhangra lying on the operation table. To keep him distracted, the staff also performed some dance steps. The surgery went on well and the plaster cast was put on without any difficulty,” the doctor added.

Meanwhile, the young patient is on the road to recovery and has been discharged from the hospital. “He will be able to walk again in a month and a half if things go according to plan,” Dr. Gupta remarked.
Regarding the background, the accident occurred just the week prior, prompting Shubhdarshan’s initial treatment at the civil hospital in Moga before being referred to Faridkot. However, with assistance from an NGO, his father, Gurprem Singh, facilitated his transfer to the private hospital in Jagraon for surgery. Thanks to the family’s Ayushman Bharat insurance card, the financial burden of the surgery was alleviated for his physically challenged father.
