In the realm of peculiar food pairings, Maggi seems to be the magnet for most food experiments in India. The possibilities seem endless as food vendors keep on challenging the taste buds with something ‘different.’ In an unending effort to do so, a food vendor has come up with a bizarre combination that will make you stop and wonder, ‘Why?’.
Hold on to your horses!!! The latest addition to this list of peculiar food combinations is “Chass Maggi,” a fusion creation that combines the beloved Maggi with a twist of chass (buttermilk). Yes, we aren’t kidding. A video featuring a vendor preparing Maggi with buttermilk is making waves online and has left many scratching their heads.
The viral video begins by showing a vendor pouring buttermilk into a sizzling wok (known as a “kadhai” in Indian cuisine). After boiling it for a few minutes, he adds Maggi to the buttermilk, followed by spices like red chilli powder, salt, and Maggi Masala, resulting in a curious concoction dubbed “Chaas Maggi.”
The clip posted on Instagram by the handle ‘Chatora Ankit’ not only showcases the invention of the peculiar dish but also provides foodies with the location where they can sample this dish. The caption accompanying the post reads, “Chaas Maggie of Surat.”
Take a peek at the Chass Maggi preparation process:
Since being shared, the clip has stirred up quite a reaction on the social media platform Instagram. Cringed by the bizarre food combination, some users took to the comment section to express their discontent, while others, curious about the taste, questioned why the food blogger removed the reaction after eating the Chass Maggi.
“Bro murders Chass and Maggie both in 1 go only,” a user commented.
A user tweaked, “Upar Wala Inko Nahi Dekh Raha Hai Kya Ya Sirf Humein apne Karmo Ki Saza Milti Hai (Is God not watching them or are we just being punished for our deeds?)”
“Khane k baad ka reaction q cut Kiya????” an individual queried.
“Do one thing, make Maggi at home and just add chaas on top, it turns out much better,” suggested a user.
An account wrote, “Yuck. They just want to become famous by hook or by crook. Please stop this.”
“Are the people eating this Maggie alive?” questioned another user.
These viral food combos keep us talking and wondering why anyone, in their right mind, would willingly dive into the culinary chaos when the ‘innovative’ offerings are nothing but disgusting.
