A bizarre accident occurred at the Nepanagar Railway Station Overbridge in the Burhanpur district of Madhya Pradesh. Two young boys on a bike collided with the divider of a bridge due to mechanical issues in the front wheel. After the collision, a man sitting in the passenger seat of the bike fell from the 60-foot-high bridge and landed on the roof of a house situated below the bridge. The boys have suffered minor injuries. The loud bang heard after the accident gathered the crowd at the accident site. The video of a man lying on the roof of another house is now going viral.
While talking to Local18, the house’s landlord Kailash Patharia said that they were sitting in their house and drinking tea when the accident happened at the overbridge. They heard a loud sound from the roof of their house. “All of us in the house went out and saw the young man was on the roof," he added. After hearing the loud bang, people started flocking towards the house to rescue the young boy from the roof. The people present on the spot climbed on the roof, brought the young man down and took him to the Community Health Center of Nepanagar for treatment.
The name of the injured is said to be Vijay Mahajan. He is a resident of Balwada village. He was going home on his bike with his friend Ajay Choukse. The latter was riding the bike, while the one who flew and landed on the roof was Vijay Mahajan. As per the news reports, the accident is said to have happened at 5:00 pm on Tuesday. Ajay Choukse suffered injuries on his hand and waist. The height of Nepanagar Railway Overbridge is about 60 feet.
A major accident was prevented as the young boy didn’t fall on any electrical wires, which were located below the bridge. People believe that this accident could have been avoided if the government officials had built the railings at the side of the overbridge after its construction. The residents of the area have demanded that the responsible officers install guardrails so that such accidents do not happen in future.
