MrBeast Reacts To T-Series’ Subscriber Call, Feud Reignites Over Most-Subscribed YouTube Spot
In 2019, MrBeast ran a ‘Subscribe to PewDiePie’ campaign when PewDiePie and T-Series competed for the title of most-subscribed YouTube channel.

It seems like T-Series has once again engaged in a feud with this popular YouTuber. Recently, MrBeast made a major achievement of getting 252 million subscribers which puts his channel close to T-Series’ 263 million subscriber count. While T-Series, an Indian music company, is the most subscribed channel on YouTube, MrBeast comes in second, even though he is the most subscribed “individual” channel. Now, it appears that MrBeast can take T-Series’ much-beloved top spot of being the most-subscribed channel overall. On April 17, T-Series shared a video on X urging people to “be part of the T Family” by subscribing.

The video quoted T-Series’ late founder Gulshan Kumar as, “I want to put India and my people at the top of the international platform. Come, take my hand, let us work together to make my dream, Become your dream, May our dream become a reality.” The video also showed the national flag as the company appealed to subscribers. This video soon got over 2.1 million views.

MrBeast, aka Jimmy Donaldson, commented on this video and wrote, “Naw, subscribe to me instead.” Interestingly, this comment got over 100,000 likes while the T-Series’ video got just 2,900 likes.

Not all people were impressed by the T-Series’ post. Many Indians called out the company for its stringent copy-right strikes. An X user wrote, “Don’t play patriotic nonsense. You guys don’t even spare our own creators just for one sec or two-sec clips. Unsubscribe T-Series.”

It is interesting to note that MrBeast’s feud with T-Series is not new. Back in 2019, when T-Series and Swedish YouTuber PewDiePie had a race to get the “most subscribed YouTube channel” title, MrBeast vehemently supported PewDiePie by buying billboards across the USA urging people to support PewDiePie. MrBeast and his friends also bought tickets behind the goalposts at the Super Bowl and wore shirts that spelt out “SUB 2 PEW DIE PIE.” T-Series won this rivalry after it got over 100 million subscribers on May 29, 2019, and became the first YouTube channel to reach this number.

In recent years, MrBeast’s popularity has soared, thanks to his high-budget game show-style videos, difficult challenges and philanthropic work. In October 2023, when MrBeast got over 200 million subscribers, the 25-year-old celebrated this rare achievement by posting a note on YouTube that said, “This is just the beginning, now it’s time we rally and pass T-Series to avenge PewDiePie.”

It will be interesting to see who ‘wins’ this time.
