'Stop Stupid Insinuations': Maye Musk Clears Air Amid Son Elon-Meloni Dating Rumours

Maye Musk, mother of billionaire Elon Musk, has clarified speculation surrounding her son and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni after a photo of the two sparked dating rumours.

In response to the swirling gossip, Maye, 76, commented on a post, saying, “I was sitting next to Elon. I also looked at Georgia with admiration,” denying any romantic involvement between the duo.

The photo in question features Elon, 53, and Meloni, 47, engaging in a friendly conversation during an awards ceremony in New York on September 24, held alongside the United Nations General Assembly. Their interaction included moments where they appeared to gaze into each other’s eyes, igniting public curiosity.

To further address the situation, Maye shared another photo that included herself, Elon, and Meloni, emphasising her presence during the event. “Found this photo from the event with Meloni. So stop with all the stupid insinuations,” she wrote in the post.

In another post, when a user shared a photo of Elon and Meloni with the caption “We all know what happened next,” Maye responded, “I went back to the hotel with Elon.”

On Wednesday, Elon also weighed in on the speculation. When asked in the comments of a post if he and Meloni were dating, he replied, “We are not dating.” He further clarified, “I was there with my Mom. There is no romantic relationship whatsoever with PM Meloni.”

During the awards ceremony, Elon presented Meloni with the Atlantic Council Global Citizen Award, praising her character and acknowledging Italy’s economic success. He called the Italian PM “someone who is even more beautiful on the inside than she was on the outside.”

“She’s also someone who is authentic, honest, truthful. That can’t always be said about politicians,” Musk added.

In her response, Meloni referred to Musk as a “precious genius,”

“I thank Elon for the beautiful words that he had for me, and for his precious genius for the era in which we live,” she said at the start of her speech.
