Sufi Saiyad Junaid Sabri was admitted a few days before his daughters' wedding. The 55-year-old, who was not fit to earn a discharge certificate, had requested the hospital officials to permit his daughters to marry within the ICU.

In a heartwarming incident, two women got married in the intensive care unit (ICU) of a hospital in Lucknow to fulfil their father’s wish. Sufi Saiyad Junaid Sabri was admitted a few days before his daughters’ wedding. The 55-year-old, who was not fit to earn a discharge certificate, had requested the hospital officials to permit his daughters to marry within the ICU. In the video, shared on X (formerly Twitter), the two couples can be seen exchanging vows. We can spot the newlyweds in medical gowns keeping the hospital policy in mind.

The video has spread like wildfire on the social media platform. So far, it has collected more than 15,000 views.

People have also congratulated the newlyweds and wished them all the best for their bright future.

A user commented, “God bless both the married couples.”

Another added, “Wow, it is every parent’s dream to see their child’s wedding with their own eyes.”

As per a Times of India report, Sufi Saiyad Junaid Sabri was admitted to the hospital earlier this month due to a chest infection.

At the request of his daughters, who were being married in Mumbai on June 22 but wanted to carry out the nikah in front of their father, special arrangements were set up within the ICU, the report added.

Five persons were allowed to attend the event on a humanitarian basis, the hospital staff stated.

Dr Darksha Saiyad (26), the first daughter, had her nikah on Thursday, while Tanzila Saiyad (24), the second daughter, got married the next day.

Junaid’s brother, Dr Tariq Sabri, stated that he has been hospitalised five times in the last 14 months.

Dr Sabri added that Junaid was scheduled to go to Mumbai for the wedding but due to his health issues he was shifted to the hospital.

Dr Sabri noted that his daughters were devastated to learn about their father’s health.

The report added Prof. MMA Faridi, the dean, granted the request—but only on the condition that five people—including the groom’s side—enter the ICU while taking all necessary safety procedures.

“It was allowed, and finally, the nikah was solemnised,” Dr Sabri said.
