Watch: Shah Rukh Khan Lookalike Campaigns For Congress Candidate In Lok Sabha Polls, BJP Objects

A lookalike of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was recently spotted campaigning for a Congress candidate contesting in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Often referred to by his initials SRK, the Bollywood star’s influence extends far beyond acting. Given his massive fan following, it isn’t surprising to see several organisations, commercial or political, wanting the star to be on their side.

Now a video in which a Congress candidate is campaigning using a person who bears a striking resemblance to the Bollywood star is going viral. In the video, the lookalike, on the back of a small truck, can be seen waving to crowds. The caption of the post reads, “Congress hired Shahrukh Khan for their campaign”.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took objection to the Congress campaign, calling it a “scam”. “Imagine the lengths to which the party can go to fool people so brazenly & openly,” BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla posted on X.

Several netizens have now reacted to the video featuring the Shah Rukh Khan lookalike. One of them was awed by the person’s physical similarities to the Bollywood star. “Quite a resemblance. Is this allowed by EC,” they wrote. Another one hilariously suggested that the look-alike seemed more real than the actor himself. “This guy looks more real than the real”, he wrote.

One user felt that this attempt from the Congress Party was cute as he wrote, “Ha ha!! This is cute!” A reply suggested that the actor’s lookalike was brought from a shopping website called Meesho. Another enquired, “lol r they living in Bollywood?”

This isn’t the first time people have crowded to see Shah Rukh Khan’s lookalike. Similar scenes were witnessed Last week after the Bollywood star’s doppelganger was spotted at an airport. A video of the incident was shared by Viral Bhaiyani on Instagram. “We know the comment section is going to be wild,” read the caption.

Mimicking the actor’s look from the movie Pathaan the lookalike was seen rocking a black T-shirt, a leather jacket and olive-coloured pants. While the majority of the fans recognised that the person wasn’t the real star, they continued taking pictures with him. Some of them even shook the lookalike’s hand.

Given his massive fan following, it isn’t surprising to see several organisations, commercial or political, wanting the star to be on their side.

As for the real Shah Rukh, the Bollywood actor was recently spotted at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata during their IPL match against the Rajasthan Royal.
