Woman Opens Car Door, Hits Auto Driver And Then Walks Away As If Nothing Happened

The internet hosts numerous clips showcasing people engaging in peculiar behaviours during their daily routines. While many of these clips appear harmless and quirky, some hold the potential to pose life-threatening situations. Among these, is a recent viral video that is a reminder of the importance of being mindful while engaging in the most general act. Shared on X (formerly Twitter), the video captures a disturbing incident where a passenger was not cautious when opening a car’s door in the midst of traffic. A woman abruptly opens the door of a four-wheeler on a busy road, leading to a collision with an autorickshaw. This incident occurred in Karnataka on a Wednesday afternoon and was shot by the dashboard camera of another vehicle.

In the recorded video, one can see the woman passenger swiftly open the car door amidst traffic, causing an incoming auto rickshaw to collide with it. Following the impact, the woman attempts to close the damaged door of the vehicle nonchalantly, seemingly oblivious to the chaos she caused. Meanwhile, the autorickshaw comes to a halt to check the damage, while the woman briskly walks away from the scene without acknowledging or apologising for her actions.

The incident quickly went viral and has attracted a number of reactions in the comments section.

Since its upload, the video has garnered over 93,000 views. Commenters have attributed blame to both the cab driver and the woman for the accident. Some argue that the driver should have cautioned the passenger before she opened the door, while others squarely blame the woman for her careless behaviour.

“Lol that Door is gone! Needs a lot of repair. I would say it’s the taxi driver’s fault. Car Drivers should never encourage passengers to get off from the right side. One should always park the vehicle by the left side of the road and ask passengers to alight from the left door,” commented a user. “Cabbie should have warned passengers about overtaking traffic, before a brainless woman opened the door,” remarked another.

“This is the normal habit of passengers when it’s not their own vehicle. Appreciate the road sense of the cab driver parking the car to the left side rather than stopping in the middle of the road to sort things out,” added a viewer.

“Actually, I see this happens more in Bengaluru where people use the right side door to get off cabs/ cars and that too in the middle of the road. Usually, we are always advised to get off from the left side,” read another comment.
