WWE Planning To Set Up Fascinating Rivalries With CM Punk, According to Reports
As per a report, WWE is planning to deploy Punk in a feud with Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Though, the Tribal Chief will not be Punk’s immediate opponent in WWE. The report further suggests that Seth Rollins is expected to be involved in a rivalry with Punk.

After a gap of nine long years, CM Punk made a surprise return to the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) last week. The legendary professional wrestler appeared at the end of the WWE Survivor Series event Saturday night in his hometown Chicago. Needless to say, Punk’s return became a big talking point on social media and it is now being learnt that the WWE probably has some major plans for the 45-year-old wrestler.

As per a Sports Illustrated report, WWE is planning to deploy Punk in a feud with Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Though, the Tribal Chief will not be Punk’s immediate opponent in WWE. Sports Illustrated suggests that Seth Rollins is expected to be involved in a rivalry with Punk anytime soon.

The article went on to mention that there are many reasons to believe that CM Punk-Seth Rollins could even very much turn out to be the main event for the opening night of WrestleMania 40.

Seth Rollins appeared to be absolutely furious seeing CM Punk suddenly appearing at the Survivor Series. Rollins was seen angrily reacting to Punk’s appearance and the World Heavyweight Champion had to be thwarted by Corey Graves and commentator Michael Cole.

There is still no certainty on CM Punk’s future at WWE but his return has certainly been a much-talked-about matter among fans. “This was one of those lightning-in-a-bottle moments that came together very quickly. But we are incredibly excited about it. It’s been a long time. In some ways, it’s been a long time coming. You can say this about CM Punk: Love him, hate him, positive, negative, whatever you want to say, people talk about him all the time. He is a magnet for that. He’s a conversation starter, and it’s tough to look past that,” WWE chief content officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque said in the post-event news conference, as per an ESPN report.

Triple H also uploaded a picture of him, standing next to CM Punk. “Mighty cold day in hell. Survivor Series,” read the caption of the post shared by Triple H on social media platform X, formerly Twitter.

CM Punk’s eventful WWE career had previously come to an end in 2014 on a bitter note. Later, he had been a part of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) as well. Punk joined the All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in 2021. Punk was fired by AEW earlier this year in August. He became the AEW world champion on two occasions.
