Ducati is known for creating some of the fastest and the most exotic bikes around the world. The Panigale series bosts of such bikes and the Italian automaker ahd unveiled the latest offering in the form of the 959 Panigale in India during the 2016 India Bike Week. Since then, motorcycle enthusiasts have been eagerly waiting for this model, and now the company has launched it at a price tag of Rs 13.97 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The bike is powered by a newly developed 955 cc, L-twin Superquadro engine which meets Euro 4 emission regulation standards and produces a whopping 157 horsepower at 10,500 rpm and 107.4 Nm of torque at 9,000 rpm, and comes with a slipper clutch and a quickshifter (DQS) for faster gear changes.
In terms of styling, the 959 takes inspiration from its elder sibling – the 1299 Panigale. There’s plenty of electronic driver-aids on offer as well, like Anti-Lock Braksing System (ABS), Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and Engine Brake Control (EBC).
The company claims that the servicing intervals for the bike will be after every 12,000 km and is providing a 2-year, unlimited mileage warranty.
Ducati’s latest product will be the most affordable, performance-oriented motorcycle from their line-up currently available in India and hence, the set of expectations that come with it is bound to be high. The 959 will be going up against the likes of the Suzuki GSX-S1000 and the Suzuki GSX-S1000F.
