A hotter variant of Lamborghini Aventador, called the Aventador S, is likely to be launched in January, 2017.
Recent reports suggest the Aventador facelift will be launched internationally next month. The brand has not made any revelation on the upgrades to the car, but it will have a new design and more power, with additional tech.
The Aventador was first launched in 2011, and is currently in the middle of its life cycle.
The launch event will be held at Ricardo Tormo Formula 1 track, where the carmaker can showcase its ‘active technology’, which will be include new driver aids. Although, there has been no official statement regarding the upgrades.
The Aventador S is expected a state of tune akin to the Centenario – 770hp, whereas the current Aventador has 701hp unit. Both have the same 6.5-litre V12. The S will likely have the same rear wheel steering system.
Also, Lamborghini, with this new model have dropped numerical suffixes on names, starting with the rear-wheel drive convertible, Huracán LP580-2. With this latest addition, a three tier family of Aventadors will be completed - base Aventador, Aventador S and Aventador SV.
