The electric two-wheeler maker Ola has been dominating the e-scooter segment for years. Recently, the company has launched its electric motorcycle in India. At the event, the brand revealed a plan to use its generation 3 platform for upcoming battery-powered scooters.
It has been informed by Ola that the Gen 3 platform will be cost-effective, allowing customers to experience improved riding quality in the upcoming e-scooters. The company says the platform will boost performance by 26 percent and will lower the cost by 22 percent compared to Gen 2 platform.
All About Gen 3 Platform
The all-new Gen 3 platform has been designed on the company’s ‘Inside the Box’ philosophy. It will transform the battery, motor and electronics into a single unit, and will offer better performance than ever.
Improved Power and Efficiency
As per the details shared by the brand, the Gen 3 battery will feature 4,680 cells, offering a larger diameter and improved energy density compared to the previous platform. This will take less time in terms of manufacturing and will improve shock resistance and thermal efficiency.
Current Fleet
Meanwhile, Ola Electric has been enjoying decent sales for the past few months. Their fleet consists of some tech-loaded models, which are dominating the segment with ease. The list includes Ola S1 X, Ola S1 Pro, and Ola S1 Air among other notable products.
