Uber aims to encourage more riders to use uberPool by making it the default option on the app for riders and rolling out special ‘pledge and win offers’ by the end of the year.

The company will also share the impact made by riders across India on the environment by switching to pool through a live microsite that will be updated on a daily basis. Additionally, riders will get a weekly update on their personal contribution to encourage them to continue to be a part of the solution.

UberPOOL has been an innovative offerings by Uber, enabling people going the same way at the same time to share their journey, by bringing carpooling at the tap of a button.

Selecting the uberPOOL option connects the rider real-time with one or two passengers heading in the same direction. Shared rides are up to 50% cheaper than traveling solo on uberGO, irrespective of the destination and adds just a couple of minutes to the total ride time.

As a part of the #SwitchToPOOL campaign, Uber will also be announcing a slew of interesting promotional offers through the end of the month to raise awareness amongst citizens and encourage them to Pool their rides.
