Volkswagen, Europe’s leading car manufacturer organised the GTI experiential drive in Gurugram for its Delhi NCR customers. According to the company, the drive witnessed participation from over 100+ customers on both days across the city giving them an opportunity to experience the Polo GTI.
The drive engaged customers through a unique showcase of power and safety features of the GTI. Participants received a first-hand experience of the drive dynamics and technical features of the GTI with expert drivers on the specially created tracks at Leisure Valley Ground, Sector 29 in Gurugram.
Under the hood, the machine comes equipped with a 1.8L inline 4-cylinder TSI engine mated with a 7-speed automatic DSG transmission and produces a 190 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. The car is also armed with many safety features like ESC with driver steering recommendation, ABS, 6 Airbags, ASR, EDL and EDTC.
All of this makes the capable of going from 0-100 km/h in a matter of just 7.2 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 233 km/h.
Globally, the car is available in two options – 5-door and 3-door options, India gets the latter.
Interestingly, only 99 GTIs were made available for sale in India when it was launched last year.
In terms of competition, the Volkswagen Polo GTI competes with the Fiat 595 Abarth.
