In a move to provide a seamless means of transport in the city, the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) on Sunday successfully completed the first trial of the underground run between MIDC stations and Vidyanagar. Indian Tech & Infrastructure also shared visuals on Twitter, showcasing the moving train, which will be spread over 33.5km, and have 27 stations starting from Cuffe Parade to Aarey Colony.
While sharing an almost one-minute-long video, the page captioned it saying “Mumbai’s first underground metro successfully carried out a trial run between MIDC to Vidyanagari metro stations”.

In the clip, it can be seen that the underground Mumbai running inside the cylindrical tunnel, which is surrounded by white LED lights, and reflectors on the curved walls, helping it to move smoothly.
Ever since the short video was shared on the internet, it gained massive viewership in no time. Internet users were also bombarded in the commenting section, praising the move by the government.

As the entire Mumbai metro Line 3 will be operated underground, both platforms and station will be located somewhere between 18-20 meters below the ground level, making it difficult for every commuter to face internet or phone connectivity issues. In order to deal with the situation, the concerned authority of Mumbai Metro has given ACES India Pvt Ltd. a contract to resolve the problem by providing telecom infrastructure to the underground line.,

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Metro-Line 3 proposal was given the green signal in 2018 under the budget of 23,136 crore. It was announced as a Joint venture between both the Government of Maharashtra and the Government of India on a 50/50 sharing basis.
