With the holiday season here, Indians are traveling by giving into the child within! That is why Disneyland in Hong Kong is one of the hot travel destinations this season.
In the run-up to festive season, the number of advertisements on holiday packages go up by almost 40 per cent.
Travel agents and various tourism boards are throwing in heavy discounts and attractive package tours to lure families.
And these families are getting adventurous. Inspite of the coup in Thailand, Indians are still willing to boogie in Bangok.
These bravehearts are responsible for a 40 per cent hike in international holidaymakers this year.
The biggest draw is shopping for women and exciting entertainment options for kids. While Thailand is the top choice for most, Malaysia follows a close second but Mickey mania is set to give Hong Kong the edge.
The Hong Kong Disneyland recently announced new schemes and promotional offers which will last till the new year.
Managing Director, Diplomatic Travel Point, M P Khanna said, "Hong Kong recently has become a tourist attraction for families visiting neighbouring countries, primarily because of
Disneyworld that's just opened."
Editor-in-Chief of Travel & Leisure, South Asia, Payal Kohli says, "Hong Kong has a Disneyworld, Singpore is doing a lot of things to attract kids. Indian rupees go much further there and you spend more on shopping and less on tickets."
Industry estimates for the cost per person for three to four days in a three star hotel in Goa is Rs 15,000 per person, while a trip to Honk Kong means shelling out atleast Rs 26,000 and this includes stay and sightseeing! So this festive season, take a break from the sun and sand, and give into the child in you!
