New Delhi: Indian national Lalita D Gupte was Monday proposed as new board member of the Finnish-based telecommunications group Nokia.
Gupte is a former joint managing director of India's second largest bank, ICICI Bank, in addition to her current position as non-executive chairman of the ICICI Venture Funds Management, she is also board member of Bharat Forge, Firstsource Solutions and Kirloskar Brothers, Nokia said.
In all Nokia, the world's largest maker of mobile telephones was slated to have 11 board members.
Other new nominations were German national Henning Kagermann, chief executive of business software provider SAP AG, and current Nokia Chief Executive Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo.
Kallasvuo's predecessor Jorma Ollila, the current Nokia chairman, was among the eight board members proposed to be re-elected at the annual general meeting May 3.
Vice board chairman, US national Paul J Collins, board member since 1998, was due to step down at the annual general meeting since turning 70 - the board's retirement, Nokia said.
