Renowned Tamil filmmaker Arpudhan has tragically passed away after succumbing to a road accident. The sudden demise of the director has left the film fraternity in disbelief, with numerous celebrities and fans extending their heartfelt condolences for his loss. The 52-year-old was hospitalised in Chennai post the accident. Sadly, he breathed his last at 4 PM yesterday while undergoing treatment. Arpudhan is known for directing films like Manadhodu Mazhaikalam, starring Shaam and Love Today, starring Uday Kiran.
Arpudhan played a pivotal role in launching choreographer and actor-director Raghava Lawrence as a leading man in films. Raghava played the protagonist in Arpudhan’s 2002 film Arputham. Produced by Super Good Films, this movie garnered a favourable response, establishing Raghava Lawrence’s presence as a leading actor in the eyes of the audience. The film’s cast also included Kunal, Anu Prabhakar, Livingston, Dhamu, and Vaiyapuri.
Arpudhan’s unexpected death has left the film industry and his admirers in deep sorrow. Film personalities are offering their prayers for his soul to find eternal peace.
Raghava Lawrence-starrer Chandramukhi 2 hit the big screens on September 28; but unfortunately, it got negative reviews from both critics and the audience. The film was criticised for its weak storyline and the performances of Kangana Ranaut, Raghava Lawrence, and the rest of the cast.
Raghava Lawrence candidly addressed the underwhelming response to Chandramukhi 2 during a song launch event for his upcoming film Jigarthanda DoubleX. He expressed, “I received my fee for Chandramukhi 2 and worked with four heroines, but success isn’t guaranteed in every endeavour. My journey started as a background dancer, and I contemplated becoming a dance master. Eventually, I became a director and actor. I believe it’s by God’s grace that I continue to receive acting offers despite the challenges. We shouldn’t dwell on hits or flops; our focus should be on doing our work, and the results will follow.”
