Dhol, Savory Treats And a Stunning World Cup Trophy Cake: Festive Atmosphere at ITC Maurya as Team India Checks in
The Indian cricket team checked in at ITC Maurya in New Delhi after arriving in the national capital with the T20 World Cup trophy.

The Indian men’s cricket team returned home to a rousing reception after lifting the T20 World Cup trophy in Barbados. The world champions were greeted by hundreds of fans at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi after they arrived in the country in a special Air India flight from Barbados.

The stars of the Indian cricket team including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah among others made their way to the ITC Maurya New Delhi renowned for hosting global figures, celebrities, and heads of state.

At the iconic hotel, Indian cricketers were given an entertaining welcome as Rohit, Suryakumar Yadav and Pandya danced to the beats of dhol.

Special arrangements have been made to offer unique experience to the players including handcrafted in-room amenities, personalised photographs along with edible chocolate cricket bat and ball.

There was a display of local love delicacies infused with the colors of the Indian jersey were also part of the bespoke setup. The array included homemade truffles, assorted chocolate-coated nuts and a variety of savory treats.

A a stunning 3-tier truffle cake was designed to honor the team’s world cup win.

“The cake is in the colour of the Team’s jersey. Its highlight is this trophy, it may look like an actual trophy but this is made out of chocolate…This is our welcome to the winning team…We have arranged the breakfast in the special venue and we will offer them a special breakfast..” the executive chef at ITC Maurya told news agency ANI.

“ITC Maurya believes in sustainability, so the breakfast has options made with millets. There is healthy food as well as a bit of indulgence,” he added.

ITC Maurya was the first stop for the Indian cricketers as they began their title celebrations which includes meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in the national capitals followed by a felicitation from the BCCI and an open bus victory parade in Mumbai.
