Duleep Trophy 2024: Ruturaj Gaikwad's Stunning One-Handed Catch to Send Back Riyan Parag WATCH

Ruturaj Gaikwad has already exhibited his astute leadership abilities having led India C to nine points from two matches in the ongoing edition of the Duleep Trophy. India C currently sit atop the Duleep Trophy standings. Gaikwad has been in impressive form in recent times making him one of the star attractions of the Duleep Trophy. The India C skipper has now come up with sensational fielding to dismiss India A’s Riyan Parag in the second innings. Gaikwad pulled off a spectacular dive and completed a jaw-dropping one-handed catch to send Parag back to the dressing room. The incident occurred in the 48th over bowled by Gaurav Yadav.

Riyan Parag looked dangerous in the second innings and he was batting on 73 when he decided to come dancing down the track in the 48th over. He played a lofted shot but failed to cross the cover region. Ruturaj Gaikwad completed a dive and pulled off a marvelous catch to bring an end to Parag’s crucial knock of 73.

The video of Ruturaj Gaikwad’s sensational catch was shared by the official X (formerly Twitter) handle of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Domestic. “One-handed stunner! Ruturaj Gaikwad is on fire on the field. He's pulled off yet another splendid catch, this time to dismiss Riyan Parag,” read the post.

Riyan Parag was dismissed for two runs in the first innings of the fixture against India C at the Duleep Trophy 2024. In the second innings, he produced a brilliant knock of 73 off 101 balls. His terrific knock comprised five boundaries and one six. At the end of the third day’s play, India A were placed at 270 at the loss of six wickets. Mayank Agarwal-led India A are currently leading by 333 runs.
