India will be playing the final T20I game of their bilateral series against Afghanistan on Wednesday in Bengaluru. The hosts, led by Rohit Sharma, have proven to be the better team in the series so far, bagging consecutive victories in the first two matches.
In their previous game against their Asian counterparts, India secured a six-wicket win. In that match, India chose to field first after winning the toss.
Afghanistan managed a competitive total of 172 before being bowled out. India though made light work of their chase.
Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal belted 68 runs in a mere 34 balls. His knock included five fours and six sixes. Later, Shivam Dube displayed his prowess with the bat as he blasted an unbeaten 63 off 32 with India winning by six wickets.
The third T20I between India and Afghanistan will be played at the M Chinnaswamy stadium.
Afghanistan have one last chance of securing a win against the Indian squad in the ongoing series. They showed glimpses of good cricket in their previous game but it was ultimately their bowling side that cost them the match. The duo of Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Mohammad Nabi conceded 62 runs in just four overs as India managed to successfully chase down the total.
