'Match Jeetna Important Hai Bas!': Yashasvi Jasiwal's Elite Mentality Revealed in Conversation With Rohit Sharma
Yashasvi Jaiswal is back in form with a sparkling century against Mumbai Indians in an IPL 2024 match played in Jaipur on Monday night.

Yashasvi Jaiswal seems to have left behind a scratchy start to his IPL 2024 campaign with an unbeaten century during Rajasthan Royals’ big nine-wicket win over Mumbai Indians in Jaipur on Monday night. Jaiswal struck an unbeaten 104 off 60, an innings that featured nine fours and seven sixes.

Jaiswal looked mighty pleased with his effort as he became the first player in IPL history to record multiple hundreds before turning 23. Incidentally, his first IPL century of the competition also came against MI.

Jaiswal may be developing a penchant for scoring hundreds but his prime motivation is always to lead the team he represents to victories.

RR gave a sneak-peek into the 22-year-old’s elite mindset during his post-match chat with MI star Rohit Sharma.

Match jeetna important hai bas! Aur kuch nahi chahiye. (Winning math is important, nothing else matters.)” Jaiswal could be heard telling Rohit who captains the youngster at international level.

Jaiswal was the top-scorer as RR overhauled the target of 180 in 18.4 overs to consolidate their position at the top of the IPL 2024 points table.

“I really enjoyed from the start and I made sure I was watching the ball properly and playing proper cricketing shots,” Jaiswal said of his innings in a post-match conversation with the broadcasters.

Jaiswal also pointed out the support he has received at RR including from skipper Sanju Samson and coach Kumar Sangakkara.

“I want to thank all my seniors the way they have guided me. I want to thank the Rajasthan Royals management and especially Sanga sir and Sanju bhai for giving me opportunities,” he said.

Meanwhile, the defeat was MI’s fifth eight matches. The five-time champions lost their first three games of the season before jotting together a couple of back-to-back wins.

However, they continue to struggle and will have to show massive improvement to remain the the hunt for a spot in the playoffs.
