Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni was recently spotted in the United States of America, hanging out with a few of his close friends. The legendary wicketkeeper-batter was last seen in action in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 where his team was knocked out after losing the last league-stage game against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The fans are expecting him in the next edition of the cash-rich league, however, the legend himself hasn’t made any decision yet.
Away from the limelight, Dhoni was spotted enjoying American football with his friends in Michigan. One of his friends, Hitesh Sanghvi, shared a video collage capturing a short US trip in which he was seen seated with the former India captain in the stands of a football stadium.
“Fun trip to michigan for American football and back…….with these amazing people,” Sanghvi wrote on Instagram.

Dhoni to Play in IPL 2025 as Uncapped Player?
According to Cricbuzz, the BCCI is considering a much-debated move of classifying retired international players as uncapped.
With rules around IPL 2025 player regulations and retention is yet to be announced, Dhoni himself said he would wait and see how the rules are before deciding on whether he wishes to continue playing.
“There is a lot of time for it. We have to see what decision they take on player retention etc. Right now, the ball is not in our court. So, once the rules and regulations get formalised, I will take a call, but needs to be in the best interest of the team,” said Dhoni at a promotional event in Hyderabad earlier in August this year.
Meanwhile, the franchise owners have been awaiting the release of the new retention policy from the BCCI. It is believed that the announcement may be delayed till the end of the month possibly.
