Mumbai Indians batters Dewald Brevis and Tilak Varma are clearly best friends and that was quite visible in their hilarious banter in a video that was shared by the franchise’s official social media handle.

The video begins with Brevis making a video in his hotel room and admitting that he was enjoying his time in Mumbai. Then a few seconds later Brevis is saying the same thing in Hindi. The final frame shows Brevis wearing a vest and a pair of shorts and he is seen with his best friend Varma, as both converse in Marathi and say, “Jai Maharashtra.”

“3 saal mein ye toh hona hi tha [This was ought to happen in three years],” read the caption of the post shared by Mumbai Indians

In IPL 2022, both Brevis and Varma performed brilliantly and helped their team bounce back when they suffered a batting collapse in the group-stage match against the Punjab Kings. When both of them batted, they almost snatched the victory from Punjab Kings’ hands.

Brevis came into this franchise with the nickname of ‘Baby AB’ as his batting style is quite similar to that of the legendary South African cricketer. He was dismissed by playing against spinners in the first two matches and a lot of people thought that it was too soon for him to play in the tournament.

But then Brevis announced his arrival in style as he hit four consecutive sixes off Rahul Chahar. Varma too impressed everyone at quite a young age. He is considered one of the most dependable middle-order batters. Brevis’s flamboyance and Varma’s composure can do wonders for this franchise in the upcoming season.

In December last year, Brevis hosted Verma at his home in South Africa. Tilak was part of the Indian squad, who were playing in the three-match ODI series against the Aiden Markram-led side. This explains the kind of camaraderie that these two young batters share both on and off the field.
