After winning the IPL 2024, Rinku Singh and Nitish Rana had a chat with Rishabh Pant over a video call

Rinku Singh was the most animated after Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won the third IPL title on Sunday night. The Shreyas Iyer-led side defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 8 wickets to be crowned as the IPL 2024 champions at Chepauk. The KKR camp burst into celebrations after the emphatic win but Rinku seemed to be in a different zone altogether.

The dashing batter didn’t get enough opportunities to showcase his talent this season. He also missed out on a spot in India’s 15-man T20 World Cup squad but on Sunday, he was far from all the disappointments he had in the past couple of months. Instead, he was jovial and enjoying the moment.

Meanwhile, Rinku and Nitish Rana had a chat with Rishabh Pant over a video call. The Indian wicketkeeper-batter had left for the T20 World Cup but called up his mates to congratulate them on the title triumph. While Rana asked Pant about his well-being, Rinku informed him about his arrival.

“Bhaiyya, I’m coming on the 28th,” Rinku told Pant on the call.

Rinku was at peace with the IPL Trophy around his arms. In a video uploaded by the IPL on social media, the 27-year-old said his dream of lifting an IPL trophy is fulfilled and now, he aims at lifting the World Cup with his Indian teammates in America.

“I’ve been playing this team for seven years now and for the first time, I’m getting an opportunity to lift the IPL trophy. I am truly very happy,” Rinku said in the video.

“A dream of mine is fulfilled but there’s one more – the World Cup. I’ll be leaving for the US in a few days, all alone, which will be tough for me. But I will lift the World Cup for sure,” he added.

In another interview, with online broadcaster JioCinema, Rinku spoke about KKR’s performance this season and also lauded team mentor Gautam Gambhir, who returned to the side after seven years.

“You can’t credit just one person because everyone has worked hard. Since GG (Gautam Gambhir) sir came, a lot of things have changed. Sending Sunil early, he batted so well,” Rinku said.
