The Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 is all set to commence on October 3 and the tournament will go on till October 20. Originally slated to be hosted by Bangladesh, the competition later had to be moved out to due to political unrest in the country.

Australia are the most successful team in the Women’s T20 World Cup history. They have won the tournament six times. England and West Indies have won the remaining two editions once each.

The upcoming edition of the women’s T20 World Cup will feature 23 matches. All these matches will be played across two venues, including The Dubai International Cricket Stadium and The Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024: Prize money
The official prize money of the T20 World Cup 2024 has seen a significant increase compared to the previous edition. Defending champions Australia had won $1 million or Rs 8.4 crore in 2023. This time the winning team will walk away with $2.34 million or Rs 19.6 crore.
Here’s how the $7,958,080 or Rs 66.5 crore prize money will be distributed :-
Winners: $2.34 million or Rs 19.6 crore
Runners-up: $1.17 million or Rs 9.8 crore
Semi-finalists: $6,75,000 or Rs 5.7 crore
Placings between 5th to 8th: $2,70,000 each or Rs 2.25 crore
Last two placings (9th and 10th): $1,35,000 each or Rs 1.13 crore
Each group-stage victory will see the teams win $31,154 or Rs 26 lakh. The initial sum for all the 10 teams is $1,12,500 or Rs 94 lakh.
