The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2024 exam schedule is likely to be changed depending on the Lok Sabha election dates. The college admission entrance exams are scheduled to be conducted from May 15 to 31, however, the dates are tentative and the final dates will be out after the election dates are released, the University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Jagadesh Kumar has said, reported PTI.

“The dates announced by the NTA are tentative. Once the election dates are announced, the NTA will finalise the CUET-UG dates. The tentative schedule is from May 15,” Kumar told the news agency.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has commenced the registration process for the CUET UG 2024. The application process will end on March 26 on the official websites — nta.ac.in, and exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG. The exam is slated to be held in 380 cities including 26 cities outside India. There are 33 languages and 27 subjects that a candidate has to choose from. He or she may choose any subject or language as desired by the applicable university they want to apply for, the NTA has said. This time, the exam will be held in the hybrid mode.

As per the official notice, the application edit window will remain open on March 28 and 29. Students will be notified about the city of examination from April 30 onwards and admit cards will be available from the second week of May. Results will be released on June 30.

Candidates must note that last year, CUET candidates were allowed to choose 10 subjects. However, this year, candidates are allowed to choose six subjects. According to the agency, most of the candidates were not choosing the full 10 options. By reducing the topics of test papers, allotment of examination centres will become easier, the NTA added. These six test papers will include three domain subjects, two languages, and one general subject.
