Farmer’s Son From Jharkhand Scores 95% In CBSE Class 12

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) recently announced the Class 10th and 12th examination 2024 results on their official website cbse.results.nic.in. Among all the students who appeared for the exam this year, a farmer’s son named Manohar Mahato from Dumrala – a remote village in Gumla (Jharkhand) – made his parents proud by scoring 95 percent in class 12. Manohar scored 92 in English, 98 in Mathematics, 92 in Physics, 96 in Chemistry and 97 in Physical Education. Now, he dreams of becoming a scientist and serving the nation. Talking to Local 18, Manohar shared that he used to study for 4 to 5 hours daily, which helped him secure the first position in Science in Gumla. He used to revise all the subjects taught in the school daily.

Manohar also revealed that he scored 96.3 percent marks in the JEE Mains examination and is currently preparing for the JEE Advance Exam. “I would like to give credit for my success to my parents and teacher who supported me a lot. Whenever I had any doubts during my studies they used to clear my doubts even through WhatsApp,” said Manohar.

Manohar’s father Pradeep Mahato and mother Sushma Devi are farmers and both live in the same village.

The CBSE Class 10th and Class 12th results were declared on May 13. The overall passing percentage for Class 12 stood at 87.98 percent, while for Class 10th the overall pass percentage recorded was 93.60 percent. Continuing the tradition, Girls outshine boys yet again this year. Trivandrum became the top-performing district this year in both the CBSE Class 10th exam and the Class 12th exam.

Trivandrum received a remarkable pass percentage of 99.75 percent for Class 10th and 99.91 percent for Class 12th. Followed by Vijayawada with a 99.60 percent pass percentage in Class 10, and 99.04 percent in Class 12. The third, fourth and fifth positions for the highest passing percentage in Class 12 were secured by Chennai (98.47 percent), Bengaluru (96.95 percent) and Delhi (95.64 percent).

For Class 10th, Chennai recorded a pass percentage of 99.30 percent, Bengaluru 99.26 percent and Ajmer 97.10 percent.
