The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) recently announced the results of the State Service Examination 2019, bringing a wave of joy and success for numerous aspirants who successfully cleared the exam and secured various positions. Among the achievers is Devesh Gokhale, a resident of Nandra village in Khargone district, who secured the prestigious position of Deputy Sub-Divisional Magistrate in the state. His accomplishment has garnered widespread congratulations and well-wishes from friends and supporters.
At the age of 32, Devesh has brought pride to his family and village by clearing the exam on his very first attempt. Born in Vadodara, Gujarat, he hails from Nandra. Devesh’s father holds the position of Chief Loco Inspector in Railways. As the youngest member of his family, Devesh completed his schooling up to the 12th grade in Vadodara and later moved to Indore for higher studies. He earned his engineering degree from Medi-Caps University in 2014 and pursued post-graduation from Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science in 2017. It was during his post-graduation that he initiated his preparation for the MPPSC.
In a conversation with the media, Devesh shared that he harboured a dream of pursuing a career in Civil Services, aspiring to become a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). With this goal in mind, he began his MPPSC preparation immediately after completing his studies. Devesh mentioned, “For one year, I filled out forms for various exams in Indore itself. Then, I appeared for the pre-exam in 2020 followed by the mains. The selection was done only after the interview.” Due to a delay in the 2019 exam results, he also appeared for the MPPSC 2020 exam.
Inspired by his maternal uncle, who serves as a DSP in the police department, Devesh believes that while an engineer may work in only one field, a policeman has the opportunity to serve people in multiple ways. Despite successfully clearing the exam, he expresses his determination to continue striving for the position of DSP.
