There are many UPSC coaching centres in India which charge lakhs, but lack in providing quality training to the candidates. Every year, millions of candidates belonging from different economic and educational backgrounds appear for the UPSC civil services exam. An aspirant often faces perplexing questions on how and from where to begin with, with an abundance of study material, online portals and YouTube videos. To help such budding civil service aspirants, many private and government funded institutions provide free civil service coaching to the candidates. The first and foremost free coaching centre in India is Jamia Millia Islamia UPSC coaching centre. A separate residential centre has also been set up where candidates are provided free quality training for UPSC. Many candidates get selected in the civil service examination from this institution every year.

This year, there are 100 seats available in Jamia Millia Islamia for admission in UPSC coaching. Students who get admission will also be provided with hostel facilities which are mandatory. They will have to pay Rs 1000 per month for the hostel fee. A six-month advance fee will be taken which is Rs 6000. They will also have to deposit the maintenance fee two months in advance. For female candidates, the fee will be deposited in the Girls’ hostel/provost office.

Admission is only provided to the candidates belonging from the minority community that is the SC, ST and women category.

In order to take admission in the Jamia Millia Islamia coaching centre, students will have to give an entrance exam. The registration is done in the month of June, and after that the exam is conducted. Selected candidates in the written exam are then called for an interview.

The second free coaching centre in India is Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Department, which provides coaching only to the students belonging to the Minority community that is SC, ST and other backward classes. To avail the benefit of the free UPSC coaching facility in UP, candidates need to visit the website socialwelfareup.gov.in. Admission to this coaching program is based on the entrance exam. Selected candidates get access to comprehensive UPSC exam preparation.
