The Uttar Pradesh Police is gearing up for significant recruitment drives to fill 62,000 vacancies across various positions such as constable, SI, jail warder, radio operator, clerical cadre, computer operator, and computer programmer. The recruitment initiative includes a substantial number of positions reserved for female candidates, aligning with the Chief Minister’s announcement of a 20 per cent reservation for girls in police recruitment. The total number amounts to around 12,000.

In terms of relaxation criteria for female candidates, several aspects are considered:

Scheduled Caste category women, on the other hand, must meet a height requirement of 147 cm. For males, the height criteria are set at 168 cm for UR, OBC, and SC, while 160 cm for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates.

Weight Requirement: Female candidates need to have a minimum weight of 40kg for eligibility. Those falling below this weight threshold are ineligible to apply.

Physical Endurance: As part of the recruitment process for UP Police constables, female candidates are required to run 2.4 kilometres in 14 minutes. Conversely, male candidates are expected to cover a distance of 4.8 kilometres within 25 minutes.

Age Limit: Female candidates aged between 18 and 25 years are eligible to apply for UP Police recruitment. However, those belonging to OBC, SC, or ST categories have an extended age limit, allowing female candidates between 18 and 31 years to apply.

Educational Qualifications:

For the position of Sub Inspector, candidates must hold a graduate degree, while constable positions require a minimum educational qualification of 12th pass.

Application Fee:

Candidates applying for UP Police Recruitment need to pay an application fee of Rs. 400 for General/OBC categories. Payment can be made online through Net Banking, debit cards, or credit cards. However, the SC and ST categories are exempt from paying the application fee.

Salary:

The UP Police Constable’s salary falls in the range of Rs. 35,000 to Rs. 45,000 per month, following the guidelines of the 7th Pay Commission as determined by the Uttar Pradesh Board Recruitment and Promotion Board for the year 2023.

The extensive recruitment drive, coupled with reservations and relaxations, aims to ensure inclusivity and diversity in the Uttar Pradesh Police force.
