He reportedly started preparing for the UPSC exam soon after completing his schooling. He successfully cleared the exam on his first attempt at 22. Let us learn more about the boy:
Suchiter Sharma cracked the 2021 UPSC exam with an AIR 146. He is a resident of Salehar village, around 9 km from the town of Bishnah in the Jammu district. Soon after completing his 12th-grade studies, Suchiter started his preparation for the UPSC examination. He prepared for the examination with full dedication and managed to crack the UPSC Civil Services Exam on his first attempt. Suchiter Sharma cracked the exam at the age of just 22, becoming the youngest IRS officer in the country.
Talking about his studies, he completed his 12th-grade education at Army Public School, Ratnuchak, Jammu. Since his school days, Suchiter aspired to be a UPSC officer. He completed his graduation from Govt. Gandhi Memorial Science College, Jammu. He had to travel for more than 50 km to attend college. Despite spending long hours in the college, he diligently attended all the classes of his UPSC coaching which further helped him to achieve the goal.
During the Covid 19 lockdown, Suchiter gave more time to the UPSC preparation. He mentioned in a conversation that as everyone was locked inside their houses he got ample time to sit and study. Eventually, his hard work paid off and he cracked the examination within six days of completing his graduation.
Suchiter’s father Madan Lal Sharma, and mother, Ritu Mangotra, are both teachers. His cousin, Prayasi Sharma is an IAS officer. He took inspiration from his cousin and successfully achieved a remarkable milestone.
