Elevating the sacred heritage, culture, spirituality and crafts of Kashi, renowned couturier Manish Malhotra is all set to weave magic through an opulent fashion showcase in Varanasi on April 14th.
Working with artisans and celebrating Indian crafts in his collections and presenting them for the world to witness, Manish and his creations will highlight the intricate handicrafts and handlooms of Banaras against the picturesque backdrop of the Namo Ghat.
Expressing his thoughts on celebrating the heritage of Kashi, Manish posted an insightful video exploring the world of Varanasi and his vision for the show.The video was supported by a heartfelt caption he wrote: “Kashi is a city where Indian tradition and modernity are beautifully woven together. Kashi is known for its culture, spirituality and its world famous for Banarasi handicrafts. This handicraft has been taken to new heights by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s ‘Vocal for Local, Local for Global’ policy in the last 10 years.”

Inspired by the timeless elegance of Banarasi weaves, Manish Malhotra will be bringing the myriad shades of the craft in his latest collection. Manish Malhotra who is one of Bollywood’s most loved couturiers, will also have two special celebrity stars walking in the show for him. “Through India’s heritage, I am going to bring together ‘Modern Fashion and Tradition” to showcase this historic heritage of Kashi with Ranveer Singh and Kriti Sanon. Ranveer Singh, who has walked for Manish Malhotra in the designer’s past shows, also took to Instagram to give a sneak peek into what to expect from the one-of-a-kind showcase in Varanasi. “Looking forward to celebrating Indian culture and tradition in the vibrant city of Kashi,” shared Ranveer Singh on his Instagram story.
The Manish Malhotra fashion show, which is part of the two-day event (April 13–14) organised by the Indian Minorities Foundation, to promote handicrafts and handlooms of Varanasi, will be hosted on the Namo Ghat.
