Madrid: Real Madrid striker Emmanuel Adebayor has revealed that the criticism he has received in the past few weeks hasn't affected him and that it's all part of being a professional footballer.
The Manchester City loanee put in a far from impressive performance against Sporting last week and was forced to shoulder condemnation from the media.
However, the Togolose forward was praised after his brace against Tottenham in midweek, and he said to AS: "I don't read the Spanish papers because I don't speak Spanish yet. It doesn't really interest me though what they're saying about me. It's normal for a footballer to go through ups and downs.
"The press wrote that I was the worst player on the pitch last weekend, but I'm a hero again after my goals against Tottenham. And I'll probably be a bad player again in their opinion if I don't score against Athletic Bilbao."
