New Delhi: During the course of the 31-day football extravaganza in which 32 participating teams played 64 matches, Google posted an unprecedented 63 World Cup 2014 doodles on its different home pages around the world. The last in the series celebrates Germany's well-deserved victory in the football World Cup. The doodle is visible on Google Germany home page - google.de.Like the other 62 World Cup 2014 doodles, the Germany victory doodle is also animated and it features Paul the Octopus - the common octopus which had grabbed worldwide attention as an animal oracle during the 2010 World Cup by apparently predicting a number of results. Paul sticks his head and an arm out of the window of a ceremonial car with a fluttering German flag waving at the crowds celebrating Germany's 1-0 victory over Argentina. He has a halo over his head indicating that he is no longer in this football-playing world (Paul died on October 26, 2010).The Google letters appear dressed in the colours of the German national flag and appear to be cheering their team. This is Paul the Octopus' third appearance in the World Cup 2014 doodles. The first was on June 17 in the Germany versus Algeria doodle and then again in the interactive doodle celebrating the final where he appears on clicking the cloud.
