Margao: FC Goa will be desperately looking for their first win at home when they meet an equally struggling Delhi Dynamos FC in the seventh round of the Indian Super League.
FC Goa, the last year's runners up have been struggling this season, having collect just four points from six matches they have played. They are the only team to have conceded the most number of goals and are lying at the bottom of the table.
Richarlyson and Matheus Trindade have failed to dominate the opposition in the midfield, which lacked the creativeness in the absence of Leo Moura.
The onus is now on Jofre to carry the bulk of load in the midfield along with Pratesh Shirodkar. Julio Cesar, who was the most impressive player upfront in the last game, will lead the attack along with Robin Singh, who failed to impress in the last match.
However, the home can take heart from the fact that it has a good record against the visitors having won five out of six matches they have played against each other.
With the league heading the half way mark, Zico is keen that his team put up a collective performance and win will put them in positive frame of mind when the second leg starts.
"Every game is important from now and we need to win all matches to keep our chances alive to be in the first four. No team has dominated us so far, it is our finishing that has let us down as we have failed to score from the numerous chances we have created in all our six matches we have played and we hope to convert the chances and win," stated Zico.
Delhi Dynamos although had started their campaign this season with a win, they have lost the plot thereafter failing to collect full points from last five matches and are placed sixth with seven points from six games.
Coach Gianluca Zambrotta will be hoping that his team post their second win against Goa.
"FC Goa are a strong side and it will be very difficult to beat them at home. They have the advantage of playing at home and their players had good rest to recover from injuries. On the other hand, we have played against Pune City FC couple of days back and had no time to recover from injuries but that cannot be an excuse and we have to do our best and win tomorrow in order to stay in the top four," said Zambrotta.
Marcelinho, the side's chief creator, has missed chances galore. He missed a sitter last time and his efforts throughout the game drew a furrowed look from his Italian coach.
Ruben Gonzalez is expected to begin this tie, with Anas Edathodika partnering him in central defense. David Addy and Souvik Chakraborthy will retain their places as full-backs on the left and right side of defense respectively.
Florent Malouda has controlled the midfield well and is expected to do the same tomorrow along with Milan Singh. Richard Gadze, who has been thorn in the rival flesh, will be the key player for Delhi.
