The Premier League club Liverpool have agreed a deal to bring in Benfica left-back Lorenzo Melgarejo, reported Sunday Times on Tuesday.

The Paraguan international Melgarejo has just one cap to his name so he could find difficulty while getting a work permit for England. His only appearance came in November 2012, when he played as a half-time substititute in Paraguya's 3-1 win over Guatemala.
Melgarejo moved to Benfica in June 2011.
