Milan: Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is looking to get one over on La Liga rivals Barcelona by launching an over $ 50 million bid for Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas, according to the Daily Mail.
The Spanish World Cup winner has long been linked with a return to the Nou Camp, where he started his career before being snapped up by Arsenal as a youngster, although the Gunners have been forthright in their stance that the 23-year-old is not for sale.
Bernabeu giants Real, however, have reportedly entered the race for Fabregas' signature, with Mourinho seemingly seeing the midfielder as an ideal partner for former Liverpool star Xabi Alonso.
The ex-Chelsea boss has reportedly informed club officials to pull out all the stops in an attempt to lure the Spain international to Madrid with Fabregas himself having previously refused to rule out a move to the Bernabeu.
