England: Sebastian Larsson scored a late equaliser as Sunderland snatched a 2-2 draw at West Bromwich Albion in their Premier League opener on Saturday.
Jordi Gomez found Patrick van Aanholt down the left and his cut-back was deftly diverted past goalkeeper Ben Foster by Larsson from close range in the 85th minute at the Hawthorns.
West Brom had looked like making a winning start under new manager Alan Irvine after Saido Berahino struck twice following Lee Cattermole's fifth-minute opener for Sunderland from outside the area.
Berahino's first came from a contentious penalty in the 42nd after Victor Anichebe appeared to go down at the slightest hint of a shirt-pull from Valentin Roberge. Berahino struck again in the 74th, getting ahead of Van Aanholt before tapping the ball into the net.
An early second-half strike from Andreas Weimann gave Aston Villa a 1-0 victory against Stoke at the Britannia Stadium.
Stephen Ireland and Marc Wilson failed to clear the ball from the penalty area in the 50th minute, and Weimann fired across goal and past Asmir Begovic to put Villa ahead.

Chris Wood rescued a point for Leicester on its return to the Premier League, netting a late equalizer for a 2-2 draw at home against Everton.
Wood slotted in a clinical finish past goalkeeper Tim Howard as Leicester twice came from behind in its first game back in the top flight since 2004.
Aiden McGeady put Everton ahead when he curled a perfect finish into the far top corner in the 21st minute, but Jose Ulloa pulled the hosts level just a minute later with a scrappy finish inside the area.
