This wikiHow teaches you how to add ads to YouTube videos.
Setting up AdSense
Open a web browser. Popular ones include Chrome and Firefox.
Navigate to www.youtube.com/account_monetization?ar=2&o=U. Log in if prompted. This will open up your monetization progress. You will not be able to follow any steps to add ads to your YouTube videos until you Link AdSense to your YouTube account.
Click Review or change AdSense association. This will open a page where you can add an Adsense account.
Log in with your Google information. A box will pop up asking which Google account you want to use with AdSense.
Confirm the URL listed is your YouTube channel. This is under the header “Your Website.”
You can switch Google accounts if you need to by clicking Use A Different Account.
Click Accept Association.
Read the agreements and policies presented.
Select the box Windows Checked to accept the agreements and policies.
Click Continue To AdSense. You will be directed to a page with all your AdSense information like payment history, ad settings, and payment information. Your AdSense application will be reviewed, and you will receive an email once it’s confirmed. As long as your account is in good standing, you should have this approved in less than 24 hours. Once it’s been approved, your AdSense account is linked to your YouTube account, and you can now start earning money from your videos.
Setting up Ads on Your YouTube Videos
Open a web browser. Popular ones include Chrome and Firefox.
Navigate to www.youtube.com/account_monetization?ar=2&o=U. Log in if prompted. This will open up your monetization progress. Make sure Monetization is enabled.
Click the video camera with the + sign inside.
Upload your video.
Click Monetization. You will be able to choose what kind of ad you want displayed, like a banner ad or a popup. You will not see these options for monetization if you are not in the YouTube Partner Program.
