What Happens When You Block Someone on Discord?
Blocked users are removed from your friend list. If the person you are blocking is on your friend list, they will be removed immediately.
Blocked users cannot DM you. If any user you blocked tries to direct-message you, their messages will be blocked and you will not see them. The user will receive a message that says "Your message could not be delivered."
Their messages will be hidden in servers. If you and the person you blocked are members of any servers together, their messages will be blocked in the server. Instead, you will see "1 blocked message" in place of their message. If you want to see the message the person posted in a server, you can click or tap Show Message next to the "1 blocked message" post. If a blocked user tries to tag you in a post in a server, you will receive a notification or the message. Blocked users can still see your posts in servers.
They can't add you as a friend. Blocked users will be unable to add you as a friend.
They can't view your "About Me" page. Blocked users can see your profile image, but if they try to check out your profile, they will not see anything in the "About Me" section. They will not be able to see your bio, mutual servers, or friends.
Blocked users are not notified that they are blocked. If you are wondering if blocked users are notified that they've been blocked, they are not. However there are other ways users can find out if they've been blocked.
Blocked users can see your status in mutual servers. If you and the person you blocked are in a server together, they can still see your status. However, if you are not in the same server, they cannot see your status.
