- If you don't want to see the Bing Chat "Discover" icon or the sidebar in Edge, they're easy to disable.
- To disable the Bing Chat button, go to Settings > Sidebar > Bing Chat and toggle off "Show Bing Chat."
- To disable the Discover sidebar, go to Settings > Sidebar and toggle off "Always show sidebar."
Remove the Bing Chat Button
Click the gear icon at the bottom-right corner of Edge. If you don't see a gear icon, click the three dots at the top-right corner of Edge and select Settings instead. This method hides the Bing Chat button, formerly known as the "Discover" button, from the top-right corner of Edge.
Click the Sidebar tab. You'll see this in the left panel of your Edge settings.
Click Bing Chat. It's the first option under "App specific settings."
Click the "Show Bing Chat" toggle to turn it off Windows Switch Off. This hides the Bing Chat icon from Microsoft Edge. Even when the Bing Chat icon is hidden, you can still use Bing Chat at https://www.bing.com.
Remove the Bing Sidebar
Click the gear icon at the bottom-right corner of Edge. If you don't see a gear icon, click the three dots at the top-right corner of Edge and select Settings instead. If you don't want to see the sidebar with icons running along the right side of your browser, this method will show you how to get rid of it.
Click the Sidebar tab. You'll see this in the left panel of your Bing settings.
Click the "Always show sidebar" switch to turn it off Windows Switch Off. Once this feature is turned off, you'll no longer see the icon bar on the right side of your browser window. The Bing Chat button will remain even if you disable the Discover sidebar. You can disable the Bing Chat button separately if you'd like.
