How to Make a Laptop Stand from PVC Pipe
If you use a laptop computer much at all, you already know how hot it can feel on your lap... and how awkward it can be to have it on a desktop in front of you... with a separate full size keyboard. Here's a simple to make laptop stand that can ease those issues for you.
Steps

Preparing the PVC Pipe

Measure and cut the following lengths of PVC pipe: One section 10.5 inches (26.6cm) longLTS 10 inch.jpg Two 7.5 inches (19cm) longLTS 7pt5 inch.jpg Two 3.5 inches (8.8cm) long LTS 3pt5x2 inch.jpg

Smooth the cut edges either by sanding or with a utility blade. You don't want any burrs of plastic sticking out to complicate assembly.

Set up a painting area outdoors. Use a sheet of cardboard or paper to protect surrounding surfaces if needed. Paint each piece and allow to dry thoroughly. If using more than one color of paint, paint the sections separately before assembling.

Assembling the Laptop Stand

Assemble the sections as shown. LTS Assembly 1.jpg LTS Assembly 2.jpg LTS Assembled.jpg

Complete the assembly, gluing each joint. Press each joint together firmly and adjust the angles before the glue sets.

Touch up any paint mishaps and you are ready to use your new laptop stand!

What's your reaction?
