Telugu actress Sreeleela is currently shouldering an impressive workload with over six ongoing projects. However, recent reports suggest that she has withdrawn from Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming project, tentatively titled VD12. The film, directed by Gautam Tinnauri, encountered delays in its shooting schedule, primarily due to Vijay Deverakonda’s focus on another project titled Family Star
The reshuffling of shooting dates presented a scheduling clash for Sreeleela in the upcoming year, leading to her decision to exit the project. With prior commitments and a packed schedule for multiple ongoing projects, the clash left her with no choice but to step down.
Consequently, the film’s makers are actively seeking a replacement for her role, although an official announcement regarding Sreeleela’s departure is still pending.
Earlier, there were speculations that Sreeleela’s role would be taken over by Rashmika Mandanna, but sources close to the project debunked these rumours. The latest reports now suggest that the team is in discussions with Sakshi Vaidya, known for her role in Agent, as a potential replacement for the film.
VD12 is slated to go on floors next year after Vijay Deverakonda completes Family Star.
Despite her exit from VD12, Sreeleela has a diverse range of projects in the pipeline. Her most recent appearance was alongside Ram Pothineni in Skanda, which was managed by Boyapati Srinu and achieved box-office success. The film is set to premiere on DisneyPlus Hotstar on November 3. She is also set to appear in Ustaad Bhagat Singh alongside Pawan Kalyan, directed by filmmaker Harish Shankar, and will share the screen with Mahesh Babu in Guntur Kaaram, a film acclaimed by Trivikram Srinivas.
Returning to VD12, the film marks Gowtam Tinnanuri’s fourth directorial venture and is expected to feature two lead actors. Notably, Vijay Deverakonda will be essaying the role of a police officer for the first time in his career. The film also includes Keshav Deepak and Manikanta Varanasi in pivotal roles
