250 suffer illness after consuming stale food

Around 250 people were taken ill after consuming stale food during a marriage ceremony in Sambhal, an officer said on Monday.

Additional District Magistrate S N Singh said that after consuming food in Hassanpur Mujafta village on Sunday evening, the invitees complained of nausea and vomiting.

Prima facie it seemed to be a case of food poisoning, he said.

The patients were admitted to a hospital and discharged on Sunday night.
