New Delhi: In the glaring repercussions of recession, thousands have lost their jobs in the US. Now, US President-elect Barack Obama's transition team has received more than 3 lakh resumes for jobs in his administration.
The bad news for Obama hopefuls though is that there are less than 8,000 presidentially appointed jobs for the more than 3,00,000 applicants - a number which is growing by the day.
For transition directors, that means a more selective and extensive search of candidates.
The application procedure includes applications through the transition's website. All those interested can fill out a two-part online application and that information is put on a massive database. Staffers comb through applications scanning qualifications, experience and expertise.
