HYDERABAD: Four Sub-Inspectors (SIs) of police attached to the Cyberabad police commissionerate were injured, one of them critically in a car mishap on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) on late Sunday night. The car in which they were travelling rammed into a heap of sand and overturned leading to the mishap, police said.According to Vanasthalipuram police inspector B Ravinder Reddy, the SIs were on their way to Warangal."Construction on the stretch of ORR on the Pedamberpet to Ghatkesar is still underway. The driver of the vehicle did not notice that the road is under construction and drove into a sand heap meant for construction purpose near Balijaguda near Pedamberpet,' the inspector said. After hitting the sand heap, the vehicle overturned resulting in injuries to the five occupants.The condition of one of them is said to be critical and he is being treated in a corporate hospital at Malakpet.Though police claimed that the four police officers were on their way to Warangal relating to a case, sources said they were supposed to attend the marriage of their batchmate in Warangal.The SIs were reportedly accompanied by a businessman, Subramanyam, who is said to be driving the vehicle.
